On this Africa Day, celebrated on May 25th, 2025, I would like, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Chad, the staff of the Embassy of Chad in India, and in my own name, to extend my warmest wishes to all Africans and people of African descent for a day filled with joy, unity, and pride in the remarkable achievements of our continent.

As part of its VISION 2030, “The Chad We Want,” integrated into the National Development Plan (PND), Chad is firmly pursuing its ambition to become an emerging economy by the year 2030. To this end, the Government is working to strengthen economic and regional cooperation, notably through the implementation of investment incentive policies, the establishment of a one-stop shop for company registration, and the development of Special Economic Zones to boost entrepreneurship and innovation.

Chad plays an active role in the realization of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), a cornerstone of the continent’s economic integration. Our country sees in it a historic opportunity to boost intra-African trade, enhance regional value chains, and promote inclusive and sustainable development. The Government of the 5th Republic, under the leadership of Marshal MAHAMAT IDRISS DEBY ITNO, President of the Republic, is committed to positioning Chad as a central actor in this continental momentum, combining structural reforms, economic diversification, and proactive diplomacy.

On the diplomatic front, Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno embodies a new Pan-African vision based on solidarity, peace, and South-South cooperation. His bold and committed diplomacy positions Chad as a strong voice in regional and international forums, working tirelessly for African unity, economic sovereignty, and lasting peace across the continent.

Our country considers its relationship with India to be of paramount importance and highly strategic on all fronts. Whether in political, economic, security, health, or technological cooperation, India stands as a reliable partner for Chad, with recognized expertise and a consistent commitment to strengthening South-South ties. This bilateral relationship, founded on mutual respect and complementarity of interests, is part of a vision for a sustainable and balanced partnership, serving shared development and the prosperity of our peoples.

The Embassy of Chad in India is fully aligned with this dynamic. It aims to make 2025 a year of strengthened bilateral diplomacy by intensifying economic, cultural, military, tourism, and scientific exchanges between our two countries. On this day of celebration, let us renew our commitment to a strong, united, and forward-looking Africa.
