Egypt views this auspicious occasion of Africa Day, May 25th, 2025, as far more than a mere date on the calendar; it is a powerful testament to our continent's enduring spirit, a celebration of our shared history of resilience, and a renewed commitment to our collective future. It marks the founding of the Organization of African Unity, a pivotal moment when our forebears laid the groundwork for the pan-African dream 'a dream of unity, self-determination, and prosperity'.

Egypt, as an integral part of this great continent, has always been, and will always remain, deeply committed to Africa's progress. Our bonds are not merely geographical; they are forged in shared struggles, common aspirations, and a profound understanding of our interconnected destinies. From the dawn of the Non-Aligned Movement to the present day, Egypt has consistently championed African unity, advocating for our continent's rightful place on the global stage.

Today, as we reflect on the journey we have traversed, we must also look ahead with renewed vigor and determination. Africa stands at a critical juncture, brimming with unparalleled potential. Our youthful population, abundant natural resources, and burgeoning innovation are powerful engines for transformative growth. However, we also face complex challenges, from climate change and food security to regional conflicts and the imperative of inclusive development.

Egypt is steadfast in its resolve to work hand-in-hand with all African nations to address these challenges. We are actively engaged in strengthening regional economic integration, fostering intra-African trade, and enhancing infrastructure connectivity across our continent. Through initiatives like the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), we are building bridges of commerce and cooperation that will unlock unprecedented opportunities for our businesses and citizens.

Furthermore, Egypt is committed to advancing peace and security across Africa. We believe that stability is the bedrock of development, and we will continue to contribute to conflict resolution, peacekeeping efforts, and counter-terrorism initiatives. Empowering our youth, investing in education, healthcare, and digital transformation, and ensuring gender equality are also at the heart of our African agenda.
