Domingos Raul Escrever Qualquer, a Consular Attaché at the High Commission of Mozambique in New Delhi, India, continues to make his mark not only in diplomacy but also in literature. A young Mozambican writer, he began his journey into poetry in 2005, at an early age, influenced by the Portuguese organization Leigos para o Desenvolvimento. It was there that he took his first steps in writing, driven by a deep inner need for expression.

Over the years, Domingos has contributed to several literary anthologies across Mozambique, Portugal, and Brazil, and has published works in newspapers and magazines at both national and international levels.

These experiences have played a significant role in shaping his literary voice and worldview.

In 2023, he published his debut book, The Obscure Infinite, marking an important milestone in his literary career. Now, he presents his second work, The Deprivation of Anguish, will be launched on the occasion of World Portuguese Language Day—an event that underscores the cultural and linguistic significance of his work.

The Deprivation of Anguish is a deeply introspective piece, born from personal reflections and existential questioning. The book explores themes such as the vanity of the soul, hidden emotional struggles, and the silent weight of anguish—often concealed or unspoken in everyday life.

Rather than offering comfort, the work invites recognition. It challenges readers to confront their inner emotions and understand that anguish, when left unexpressed, does not vanish but instead transforms. Through his writing, Domingos turns pain into words and absence into presence.

Living in India since 2021, Domingos Qualquer, continues to draw inspiration from his experiences abroad, using his voice to encourage dialogue, learning, and the sharing of ideas. His work reflects a belief that literature remains a powerful tool for human connection and self-understanding.
