New Delhi. August 27, 2025 – In a refreshing departure from conventional celebrity-driven unveilings, the inaugural issue of Clear Cut Magazine a new independent print and digital publication dedicated to India’s social development sector was launched today at the Jaishankar Memorial Centre (JMC), New Delhi.


In a symbolic and deeply moving gesture, the magazine was unveiled not by dignitaries or public figures, but by young school going girls supported by JMC, underscoring the core message of the publication  that the future of India’s social impact lies in empowering its youth and marginalized communities.


The event was attended by Vidya Raghavan and Raghavan Srinivasan from the JMC Managing Team, alongside staff, well-wishers, and children from economically weaker sections the very beneficiaries of the Centre’s transformative work.

Speaking at the launch, Vidya Raghavan praised the initiative, stating: “Clear Cut Magazine has chosen the most meaningful way to begin its journey  by placing children, the future of our nation, at the heart of this celebration. This reflects the spirit of both JMC and the magazine, building an India where social impact is not an aspiration but a lived reality.”


Paresh Kumar, Managing Editor of Clear Cut Magazine, expressed his gratitude to JMC for hosting the event. “It was an honor to launch our first issue at such an impactful institution. We were touched by the warmth of the JMC community and humbled to witness their extraordinary work in empowering young lives. Having the children lead this launch was not only symbolic but profoundly aligned with our mission.”


Kumar further highlighted the shared vision between the two organizations. “The mission to honor Jaishankar’s legacy by fostering social change through education and community development resonates deeply with our own values. At Clear Cut, we believe in the power of stories to inspire action, and the stories being written every day at JMC are among the most powerful we know.”


Clear Cut is an independent print and digital magazine conceived by professionals from India’s social development sector. Born from a desire to move beyond superficial narratives and overlooked issues, the publication provides space for voices that speak with clarity, empathy, and conviction.


Each issue is curated around a central theme, featuring original contributions from researchers, practitioners, storytellers, and individuals with lived experience. Coverage spans critical topics such as mental health, gender equity, grassroots leadership, governance systems, and climate justice, among others.


With a commitment to slow journalism” thoughtful, inclusive, and purpose-driven storytelling Clear Cut seeks to create meaningful dialogue, amplify grassroots perspectives, and foster a deeper understanding of India’s complex social realities.
