The Indian JSPS Alumni Association (IJAA), in collaboration with the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut, will host the 15th India–Japan Science, Technology & Education Seminar — International Conference on Frontier Areas of Science & Technology (ICFAST 2025) — on October 10–11, 2025, at NIT Calicut, Kerala.

Sponsored by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), ICFAST 2025 is a flagship platform for advancing India–Japan research collaboration, bringing together leading scientists, innovators, academicians, and industry leaders to explore cutting-edge developments in science, technology, and education.
Celebrating 40 Years of India–Japan S&T Cooperation
This year’s conference holds special significance, marking the 40th Anniversary of India–Japan Science & Technology Cooperation and coinciding with the India–Japan Science, Technology, and Innovation Year 2025. The event will feature keynote lectures, scientific poster presentations, Japanese university and industry booths, and dedicated networking opportunities to strengthen academic and industry linkages.
Global Thought Leaders & Nobel Laureate at ICFAST 2025
A major highlight will be the keynote address by Dr. Akira Yoshino, Nobel Laureate (2019) and inventor of the lithium-ion battery, making his first visit to India. Joining him will be Padma Shri Prof. Emeritus E.D. Jemmis, eminent chemist from IISc Bengaluru.
Delegates will experience a dynamic program that includes high-level lectures, poster sessions, and showcases of innovative technologies from Japanese universities and industries, encouraging new partnerships in frontier research areas.
