Mumbai, October 2025 — Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anita Anand, visited Mumbai as part of her official trip to India, focusing on advancing trade, investment, and economic cooperation between the two countries.

During her visit, Minister Anand met with Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, to discuss opportunities to expand the Canada–Maharashtra economic partnership. Minister Anand also engaged with senior leaders of India’s top corporations, highlighting Canada as a premier destination for investment and collaboration in areas such as clean energy, infrastructure, technology, and innovation.

In addition, she met with Canadian pension fund and institutional investors based in Mumbai, recognizing their critical role in strengthening Canada–India economic linkages and mobilizing capital for sustainable growth.

Minister Anand also visited the Consulate General of Canada in Mumbai, where she thanked the team for their continued dedication and contribution to Canada’s growing engagement with India.
Her visit underscores Canada’s commitment to deepening economic and institutional partnerships with India — and particularly with Maharashtra, a key driver of India’s global trade and investment ambitions.
