An impactful India - UK CEOs Roundtable was convened in London with Minister of Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal, underscoring the growing momentum in India - UK economic relations. Hosted at Taj St. James’ Court, the high-level dialogue brought together leading business figures from both countries and was marked by strategic conversations around trade, investment, and collaborative growth.

The delegation from India was led by Anant Goenka, Senior Vice President, FICCI, and included top CEOs representing diverse sectors. The event, co-hosted by the UK India Business Council (UKIBC), served as a critical platform to reaffirm mutual commitment toward a more dynamic, innovation-driven trade partnership.


Speaking at the Roundtable, Minister Piyush Goyal emphasized India's readiness to collaborate: "India is open for business. Let’s co-create the next chapter in India–UK economic relations"

The closed-door engagement between the FICCI CEOs’ Delegation and UKIBC Board Members, chaired by Richard Heald, OBE, focused on expanding trade flows, scaling up investment avenues, and fostering joint ventures in key growth sectors including technology, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing.


Industry-Academia Collaboration

As part of the visit, members of the Indian delegation toured the Data Science Institute at Imperial College London, where they were welcomed by Professor Sankalp Chaturvedi, with an expert-led walkthrough by Dr. Mark Kennedy and Professor Marisa Miraldo. The tour concluded with a focused discussion on industry - academia partnerships, particularly highlighting the upcoming Imperial Global India Hub in Bengaluru, set to launch in May 2025. This initiative is expected to become a cornerstone of India - UK cooperation in science, innovation, and education.

Strengthening a Shared Economic Future

The India - UK CEOs Roundtable and associated engagements reflect a shared ambition to elevate economic cooperation to a strategic level.
