As India and Africa prepare to deepen their strategic partnership at the upcoming 4th India-Africa Summit, the message from CONTE Alassane Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea to the Republic of India highlights Guinea’s vision for stronger economic cooperation, innovation, and inclusive growth. With a special focus on the transformative SIMANDOU 2040 Program, the Ambassador underlines how the summit can open new avenues for investment, technology collaboration, and South-South solidarity between India and Africa.

As the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea to the Republic of India, I am particularly honored to share with you this message dedicated to the 4th India-Africa Summit, scheduled from May 28 to 31, 2026, in New Delhi. This high-level meeting, which will bring together several African Heads of State and Government with Indian authorities, constitutes a major step in strengthening and consolidating the strategic partnership between India and the countries of the African continent. Beyond its diplomatic dimension, this Summit aims to build a renewed relationship between India and Africa, based on innovation, resilience, and shared development.
Under the theme "IA SPIRIT: Strategic India-Africa Partnership for Innovation, Resilience, and Inclusive Transformation," the 4th India-Africa Summit could mark a new step in the affirmation of the Global South on the international stage. This meeting offers African countries, particularly Guinea, the opportunity to promote their development priorities, strengthen their economic and technological partnerships, and attract structural investments.
Today, India is establishing itself as a major global economic power and a key player in the international economy. Thanks to its strong growth, vast domestic market, and technological advancement, it ranks among the most dynamic economies in the world. Endowed with a diversified industrial fabric covering strategic sectors such as information technology, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, infrastructure, and renewable energies, India now appears as a leading strategic partner, particularly for African countries.
For the Republic of Guinea, the 4th India-Africa Summit holds major strategic importance in the current context of national economic transformation driven by the SIMANDOU 2040 Program. This meeting offers Guinea a platform for diplomatic visibility and economic promotion in order to showcase its significant mineral resources, hydroelectric potential, fertile agricultural lands, and strategic position in West Africa.
Through the SIMANDOU 2040 Program, Guinea aims to transform these assets into engines of sustainable development through industrialization, infrastructure development, energy modernization, and job creation. In this dynamic, India appears as a leading strategic partner, capable of supporting Guinea's ambitions and strengthening investments in the mining, energy, agricultural, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.
The Summit could also promote the strengthening of technological cooperation between the two countries. Indian experience in the fields of digital technology, IT services, telecommunications, healthcare, and higher education could serve as an important source of inspiration for the modernization of the Guinean economy.
This dynamic of cooperation remains fully relevant. Indeed, during the 3rd India-Africa Summit held in 2015, the Republic of Guinea participated in the proceedings through a significant delegation led by the then Head of State. This active participation had allowed our country to strengthen its diplomatic and economic relations with the Republic of India, while fostering the conclusion of several mutually beneficial partnerships in strategic sectors related notably to investments, infrastructure, training, health, and economic development.
The outcomes of this participation have demonstrated the importance for Guinea to maintain a high-level presence in this framework of strategic consultation between India and African countries. In the current context marked by our country's ambitions for economic transformation, the holding of this 4th edition should be part of the continuity of this dynamic of enhanced representation. It constitutes an important opportunity to mobilise more partnerships, attract structural investments, and fully take advantage of the numerous economic, technological, and commercial opportunities offered within the framework of the India-Africa partnership.
To conclude, it is worth noting that the 4th India-Africa Summit in New Delhi is taking place in an international context marked by global geopolitical, security, and economic crises. More than just a diplomatic meeting, it appears as a strategic step in strengthening the partnership between India and Africa, based on the solidarity of the Global South and the desire to build a more balanced international order.
For Africa, this meeting represents an opportunity to strengthen its voice on the international stage and accelerate its economic transformation. For India, it confirms its growing role as a major player in the Global South. As for Guinea, this Summit serves as an important platform to promote the SIMANDOU 2040 Program, attract strategic investments, and strengthen its cooperation with India in key development sectors.
